First Baptist Church Gwagwalada celebrates Father’s Day as Rev. Oyelami harps on Godly homes

To ensure a better society, the Minister in charge of First Baptist Church, Gwagwalada Abuja, Reverend Deji Oyelami wants christian fathers to be committed to building a Godly homes worthy of emulation.
Reverend Deji Oyelami made the call in his sermon titled ” Fathers As Kingdom Builders” to mark this year’s Father’s Day Celebration of the Church in Gwagwalada Abuja.
He noted that fatherhood is a divine assignment and not mere a biological responsibility hence the need for them to make God the pillar of their homes.
“Fathers as Kingdom Builders is highly relevant because God has entrusted fathers with the responsibility of building lives, families and generation that reflects His Kingdom values just as a builder carefully laid a solid foundation, fathers are called to establish their homes on biblical truth,” the Baptist Cleric stated.
Taking his bible reading from the book of 1st Corinthians chapter 3 verse 9 to 11, the Baptist Cleric also stressed the need for christian fathers to build their homes on righteousness, love, discipline and Godly character.
“My message to christian fathers as they celebrate their day this year is for them to understand that fatherhood is a divine assignment and not a mere biological responsibility, God has position each father as a builder in His Kingdom beginning with their families, therefore they should not disappoint God in this very important assignment on earth and they should live their lives in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ” Reverend Deji Oyelami explained
While wishing all Fathers in the Baptist Family a Happy 2026 Father’s Day Celebration, Reverend Deji Oyelami urged them to always give priority to the educational development of their children.
In his 2026 Father’s Day message, the President of Men Missionary Union, MMU, of the Church, Engr .Aderemi Ajibade said the essence of Father’s Day Celebration in Baptist Family is meant to remind fathers of their divine roles and to appreciate as well as recognize their God’s given role in the home, church and the society in general.
Engr. Aderemi Ajibade who also wished all members of MMU of the Church a Happy 2026 Father’s Day Celebration said the MMU would continue to organize programmes that would strengthen the faith of fathers towards building Godly homes in line with the teachings of the holy bible.
Some fathers in the Church, Deacon Victor Asade, Mr Gbemileke Moses, Engr, Adegboyega Adebayo, Dr. Tayo Olajide and Mr Samson Olayiwola expressed gratitude to God for giving them another grace to witness this year’s Father’s Day Celebration.
This year’s Father’s Day Celebration of the Church featured talk show, thanksgiving, prayers and presentation of gifts to fathers among others.
