 Bandits kill 3 set houses on fire in Niger

The Niger State Police Command has confirmed that three people lost their lives following an attack by suspected bandits on Pissa village in Borgu Local Government Area of the state.

According to the police, the incident occurred around 9 a.m. when the armed assailants invaded the community, causing panic among residents and setting several houses on fire.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, disclosed the development while speaking on the incident.

“The report received indicated that suspected bandits invaded Pissa village in Borgu LGA.

“Three persons were reportedly killed during the attack and some houses were set ablaze.

“However, the military responded and engaged the terrorists, but further details are still sketchy,” he said.

Abiodun noted that military personnel were deployed to the area and engaged the attackers, although details surrounding the operation were still being awaited at the time of filing this report.

Security agencies are continuing efforts to ascertain the full extent of the attack and its aftermath.
