VGN Commander General hails appointment of Gen. Musa as defence minister

The Commander General, Vigilante Group of Nigeria, VGN, Dr Usman Mohammed Jahun has commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing the immediate past Chief of Defence Staff, retired General Christopher Musa as the new Minister of Defence.
In a congratulatory message issued in Abuja by the Assistant Commander General in charge of Operations, Philip Friday Amanyi, the Commander General described the appointment as putting the right peg in the right hole.
He said General Musa who is an experienced soldier would command the necessary professional respect from the Service Chiefs needed to combat banditry, kidnapping, boko haram, terrorism and other crimes and criminality confronting Nigeria.
According to him, what is needed now is renewed leadership in the nation’s security apparatus towards addressing the nation’s security concerns
Jahun therefore advised the newly appointed Minister of Defence to bring his strategic leadership, experience and quality to bear in the fight against insecurity across the country towards safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial space towards protecting lives and property of the citizens.
While also urging him not to betray the confidence reposed in him by President Bola Tinubu, the Commander General called for the collective support of all stakeholders to enable the President actualize his renewed hope agenda for Nigerians in the area of security
DJahun said VGN would effectively support the new Minister of Defence towards combating banditry, kidnapping, boko haram terrorism and other forms of insecurity confronting the country to enable President Bola Tinubu actualize his renewed hope agenda for Nigerians in the area of security.
