The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ruled that the medical facility operated by the Department of State Services (DSS) is suitable for the treatment of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

Kanu’s counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, confirmed the development in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account, noting that the court found the DSS medical centre adequate to cater to his client’s health needs.

During Wednesday’s proceedings, the court also directed Kanu to conclude his defence by October 30, 2025, as part of his ongoing trial on charges bordering on treasonable felony and other related offences.

The matter has been adjourned to October 23, 2025, for the commencement of Kanu’s defence.

“MAZI NNAMDI KANU’s case has just been adjourned to 23rd October 2025 for “commencement of his defence”. The Judge further held that the DSS medical facility is adequate for his medical care and that MNK has until 30th October to close his defense,” Ejimakor said.

Platinumpost reports that Kanu is currently undergoing trial at the country for an alleged terrorism offence brought against him by the federal government
