Ibom Air passenger regains freedom as court strikes out assault case
Comfort Emmanson

Comfort Emmanson, the passenger accused of assaulting an Ibom Air flight attendant, has been released from the Kirikiri Correctional Centre just two days after her arraignment at an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Ogba.

The case stemmed from an altercation between Emmanson and an air hostess during a flight from Uyo to Lagos.

At the Samuel Ilori Courthouse, Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami struck out the five-count charge—which included alleged assault and willful damage—filed against her by the Airport Police Command.

Police prosecutor Olubunmi Adeitan informed the court that the Commissioner of Police, Lagos Airport Command, had decided to withdraw the charges unconditionally, leading to Emmanson’s immediate release.
