‘How troops eliminated suspected ISWAP informant in deadly ambush’

Troops of Sector 3 under the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) and Operation Hadin Kai have neutralised a suspected informant linked to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) during a targeted ambush in Karagawaru, Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State.
The operation, conducted in the early hours of Friday by personnel of the 29 Task Force Brigade, was part of the ongoing counter-insurgency campaign codenamed Operation Desert Sanity IV.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the troops had positioned themselves at a known insurgent crossing point and engaged the suspect at approximately 12:30 a.m.
The military recovered a locally fabricated Dane gun and a bicycle allegedly used by the suspect. No casualties were recorded during the operation, and the troops safely returned to base by 3:40 a.m.
