Tinubu meets Delta Governor Oborevwori at Presidential Villa
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently holding a crucial meeting with Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
This marks their first official meeting since the governor’s recent defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Governor Oborevwori, who was accompanied by former PDP vice presidential candidate Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, arrived at the villa around 4 p.m. and was ushered into the President’s office for the closed-door session.
Their defection has sent shockwaves through the political landscape, particularly in Delta State, where the PDP had maintained a strong grip for decades.
The move follows the mass defection of 22 PDP lawmakers in the Delta State House of Assembly to the APC, effectively turning the legislature into a one-party chamber.
