JUST IN North West APC endorses Tinubu for second term

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nigeria’s North-West region has formally declared its support for President Bola Tinubu to contest for re-election in the 2027 general election.

During the APC North-West Stakeholders Meeting held in Kaduna on Saturday, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abas, initiated the motion for the endorsement, which was backed by Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris. The move was accompanied by a vote of confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership.

At the conclusion of the gathering, Kaduna State Governor and APC North-West Coordinating Governor, Senator Uba Sani, presented a communiqué on behalf of party stakeholders from the zone.

As part of the resolutions, all incumbent APC governors in the North-West were granted automatic tickets to seek a second term in office during the 2027 governorship elections.

National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, and the governors of Kaduna, Jigawa, and Kebbi—Uba Sani, Umar Namadi, and Nasir Idris respectively—joined other party stalwarts, including Speaker Abas and several federal ministers, in expressing their unified support for Tinubu.

Governors of Katsina and Sokoto states were represented at the event.
Other prominent figures present at the meeting included Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin; Minister of Budget and National Planning, Atiku Abubakar Bagudu; Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal; former Speaker and Governor of Katsina, Bello Aminu Masari; former senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani; former Governor of Zamfara, Senator Ahmed Sani Yerima; and former governors of Zamfara and Kebbi, Mahmud Shinkafi and Senator Adamu Aliero, respectively.
