Troops kill 2 suspected bandits, seize rifle in Plateau

Troops from the 3 Division and Operation SAFE HAVEN have killed two suspected bandits and retrieved a locally-made AK-47 rifle during a recent operation in Plateau State.

Security expert Zagazola Makama reported that the incident occurred around 10:00 p.m. on May 15 in Nemaledu village, located in the Gimbi District of Wase Local Government Area.

According to sources, the troops carried out the operation based on actionable intelligence and set up an ambush at a location frequently used by the armed group.

“During the operation, the troops made contact with the bandits and in the ensuing exchange of fire, neutralised two of them.

“One fabricated AK-47 rifle was recovered from the neutralised bandits,” said the source.
