EFCC nabs 28 suspected ‘Yahoo Boys’ in Benin City

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC ) says its operatives at the Benin Zonal Directorate have arrested 28 suspected internet fraudsters commonly known as ‘Yahoo Boys’.

A terse statement by the anti-graft commission on Thursday, said the suspects were arrested on Wednesday May 14,  2025  at different locations in Benin City.

“The suspects were arrested following credible intelligence that linked them to fraudulent internet activities.

“Items recovered from them include five exotic cars, smartphones and laptop computers.

They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,”  the statement said.
