JUST IN Rivers crisis Fubara came to my residence with 2 govs Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has acknowledged that Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State—who is currently under suspension—paid him a visit, accompanied by two fellow governors.

Wike, who served as the immediate past governor of Rivers State, made this known during a media interaction with selected journalists in Abuja on Monday.

His remarks come amid widespread speculation about efforts to mend political rifts in the oil-rich state.

“Yes , Fubara came to meet me with two Governors and I said I will not pursue you. He said he wanted peace.
I told him, you don’t have the capacity to make peace .
You can’t be talking about peace when your supporters are everywhere abusing those you want to make peace with.

‘You don’t just think that you will get peace by coming to meet me .
You have to take the necessary steps.
Mind you, this is a self inflicted injury,” Wike confirmed, referring to the meeting with Fubara and the two other state governors.

The visit is being interpreted by many as a potential step toward reconciliation, given the ongoing crisis that has gripped Rivers State politics in recent months.
