Notorious bandit kingpin Soja killed in Katsina

A notorious bandits’ kingpin known as Soja, who has long terrorized communities in Katsina and neighbouring states, has been reportedly killed during a military operation in Katsina State.

The development was disclosed on Saturday by a security analyst, Bakatsine, via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle.

According to the post, Soja and several members of his gang were neutralized by Nigerian troops following actionable intelligence about a planned attack.

“GOOD NEWS: Last night, bandits’ kingpin Soja and many of his followers were neutralized by troops in Katsina State, following intelligence on planned attacks by his groups,” the post read in part. “Earlier, CWC operatives rescued 10 women and recovered stolen cattle in Musawa LGA.”

As of the time of filing this report, no official statement had been released by security agencies confirming the operation or the death of the gang leader.
