Man divorces wife for chatting with men

A father of one, Abdulkadir Shuaibu on Thursday told a Shari’a court sitting in Magajin Gari in Kaduna that he divorced his wife for chatting with random men.
He protested his former wife’s prayers to the Shari’a court seeking custody of their three-year-old daughter.
“My former wife chatted with random men while we were still married. That was the cause of our divorce in January.
“I do not trust her with my child because she lacks good character; she’s won’t be a positive influence to our daughter,” he said.
Earlier, the complainant’s counsel, Shuaibu Lawal prayed the court to confirm the one pronouncement of divorce his client’s husband made.
He also prayed the court to grant his client custody of their daughter and order Shuaibu to pay N25,000 monthly as feeding allowance for the child.
The judge, Malam Kabir Muhammad, adjourned the case until May 21 for ruling.
