Filling station staff dies after alleged torture by soldiers over misappropriation claim

Tragedy struck in Kaduna State as a 28-year-old employee of Albash Filling Station, Joseph Isaac Fada, reportedly died after being tortured by military personnel over allegations of misappropriation.
According to police sources, the incident began on April 30, 2025, when Amina Abdurrazaq, the 40-year-old manager of Albash Filling Station located along Airport Road, reported Fada to security operatives for alleged criminal misappropriation of funds.
Following the report, Fada was allegedly picked up by military personnel and subjected to brutal torture while in custody. The young man later died as a result of the injuries sustained during the ordeal.
“She alleged that Fada misappropriated ₦335,522.00 from fuel sales and handed him over to personnel at a military checkpoint for investigation.”
Fada was allegedly detained overnight by the personnel of the 413 Force Protection Group, Nigerian Air Force, where he was reportedly tortured to an unconscious state, Zagazola Makama, a security expert said.
He was later taken to a patent medicine store, where he died while receiving treatment.
Following a transfer of the case from the Airport Division, the police arrested NAF personnel Sgt Achibong Friday Udoh and LCPL Ayodele Glory Blessing along with Amina Abdurrazaq and Maryam, 51, the owner of the patent medicine store.
Police sources said that “the suspects have been transferred for detailed investigation, while the body of the deceased has been deposited for autopsy.”
