 Edo Governor Okpebholo suspends primary healthcare agency boss

The Edo State Government has suspended Dr. Caulson Osoikhia Oahimire, the Executive Secretary of the Edo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, following serious allegations of financial and official misconduct.

In a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa, the suspension was ordered by Governor Monday Okpebholo as part of the administration’s commitment to accountability and good governance.

According to the release, the most senior official within the agency will assume leadership in an acting capacity, pending the outcome of an investigation by a special committee that will be constituted to probe the allegations.

The committee, according to the statement, will submit its report to the governor.

It noted that the suspension aimed to ensure a thorough probe into the alleged infractions and maintain transparency in the agency’s operations.

The statement reads, “It is hereby announced for the information of the general public that the executive governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo has ordered the immediate suspension of the executive secretary, Edo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Caulson Osoikhia Oahimire, over allegations of grave financial and official infractions.

“Consequently, the most senior staff of the agency will act in a functioning capacity pending the outcome of a special committee to be constituted by the government to investigate the various allegations and submit a report to the governor.”
