Tinubu fears 2027, will be easiest to defeat — Aisha Yesufu

Human rights activist and Bring Back Our Girls co-convener, Aisha Yesufu, has declared that President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will be the most vulnerable candidate in the upcoming 2027 presidential election.

Yesufu, who was a leading supporter of Labour Party’s Peter Obi in the 2023 polls, accused President Tinubu of manipulating the previous election to secure victory.

“Tinubu is the easiest thing to beat. He was beaten before and he can be beaten again.

“Last time he rigged (sic) election, this time he shouldn’t be allowed to!

“His desperation and obsession about 2027 election should tell you all you need to know.

“HE IS SCARED!!!!,” Yesufu stated on Thursday via her verified X (formerly Twitter) account.

She also criticized what she described as a narrow perception among Nigerians that only candidates like Obi or Atiku Abubakar must take initiative to challenge Tinubu.

“I find it extremely dumb an idea the thinking that it is Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar or any other candidate that needs to do something to wrestle power from Tinubu the illegitimate president (sic).

“As in the over 200 million of us are just helpless citizens who are good at nothing but eating and being oxygen wasting vessels?

“We then wonder why we are treated like slaves! We sure act as one.
“We the people have the capacity to take the stolen power from Tinubu and give it to whoever we want to.

“Last time we voted and expected the people we voted for would defend the vote. This time we would vote and ensure we defend our votes until INEC counts them for our desired candidates.”

Yesufu’s comments come amid early political maneuverings and speculations ahead of the 2027 presidential race.
