Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has likened the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to a political bulldozer, cautioning that he must either be carefully handled or strategically avoided.
Fayose, speaking amid ongoing tensions within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), advised the party’s governors to proceed with caution in their dealings with Wike, stressing the importance of diplomacy to prevent a deeper crisis.
“Wike is like a bulldozer—you don’t stand in its way. You either manage him or step aside,” Fayose said, referencing what he described as Wike’s firm, unrelenting political style. “When someone gives you advance notice that he’s showing up, and then actually does, you better pay attention. That’s not a threat you ignore.”
He urged all sides to find a compromise before tensions escalate further. “We must seek common ground and avoid building on shaky foundations,” he said. “I haven’t seen Wike lately, but I’m saying this sincerely—caution is essential.”
Fayose also tFayook a swipe at former President Muhammadu Buhari, claiming the ex-leader’s administration caused lasting damage to the country. “I warned Nigerians about Buhari,” he said. “People dismissed me, but now the consequences are evident. He came, governed, and left many Nigerians in pain.”
He further stated that he would not support the PDP if it chooses another northern candidate for the 2027 presidential election, reaffirming his stance on the need for balance and fairness in party politics.
