Easter : CG NFSS felicitates Christians, harps on formal recognition of the service

The Commander General of the Nigeria Forest Security Service (NFSS), Dr. Joshua Osatimehin, has extended his Easter greetings to Christians and all members of the Service across the country.

In his Easter message delivered in Abuja, Dr. Osatimehin encouraged them to follow the example set by Jesus Christ, emphasizing virtues such as sacrifice, humility, love, and peaceful coexistence.

He explained that Jesus Christ’s mission on Earth was to redeem humanity through His crucifixion, death, and resurrection on the third day.

The Commander General called on all to ensure that the profound sacrifice of Jesus Christ is reflected in their lives by adhering to God’s commandments in their day-to-day actions.

He also urged a commitment to serving both God and humanity, as well as actively contributing their knowledge and wisdom to societal development.

Dr. Osatimehin further highlighted that NFSS personnel had been deployed across all 36 states and 774 local government areas in Nigeria to support other security agencies in ensuring a safe and peaceful Easter celebration.

Taking advantage of the occasion, Dr. Osatimehin expressed his gratitude to the Senate and House of Representatives for passing the NFSS Bill, noting that it reflected the lawmakers’ dedication to safeguarding the lives and property of Nigerians through the continued efforts of the NFSS.

He appealed to President Bola Tinubu to give his assent to the bill once it is transmitted to him, underscoring that doing so would greatly contribute to realizing the President’s renewed hope agenda, particularly in the area of national security.

While reaffirming the unwavering support of the NFSS to President Tinubu’s administration, the Commander General urged the officers and men of the Service to maintain their dedication and remain focused on the Service’s core mission, avoiding any actions that might undermine its objectives.
