Fubara s billboard pulled down in Rivers

A group of unidentified youths was captured on video vandalising a large roadside billboard bearing the image of suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, along with that of his close ally, Chijioke Ihunwo, the former Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.

The footage, which has gone viral online, shows at least four young men actively tearing down the banner. Although the precise location of the incident remains unclear, the billboard appeared prominently placed alongside a major road.

In the video, one of the youths can be heard instructing others: “Even from the down, tear it from that side, it will come down. I will bring the new one.”

Another voice responds with a greeting, calling out “Honourable”, to which the group exchanges pleasantries.

A female voice is also audible in the background as one of the young men climbs the structure and begins ripping apart the printed material. Others assist by pulling out what looks like thick paper until the billboard was completely stripped.

The motive behind the act has not been confirmed, but it is believed to be connected to the deepening political rift in the state, stemming from the ongoing fallout between Governor Fubara and his former mentor, Nyesom Wike, now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
