NSA Ribadu’s office Hilux goes missing during Friday prayers in Abuja

Authorities in the Federal Capital Territory have launched a manhunt after a Toyota Hilux assigned to the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), Nuhu Ribadu, was reported stolen during Friday’s Juma’at prayers in Abuja.
Sources say the black Hilux was parked around 1:05 p.m. opposite the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) building in Area 10, while its occupant attended prayers at a nearby mosque.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama shared news of the incident on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, stating that the ONSA official returned from the mosque to find the vehicle missing.
According to him, “a source said the theft was immediately reported to the Garki Police Division at approximately 2:00 p.m., leading to a swift response by law enforcement.”
In response, the FCT Police Command activated stop-and-search checkpoints throughout the city, targeting major routes in and out of Abuja.
Police officials confirmed that a formal investigation is underway and that efforts have been intensified to recover the vehicle and apprehend those responsible.
“The Command said it had intensified efforts to track down the fleeing suspects and recover the stolen Hilux.”
