2Baba jokes about ‘kidnap’ claim by family, says he’s raising ransom for his release

Nigerian music legend 2Baba has responded with humor to viral claims by his mother, Rose Idibia, alleging that he had been kidnapped.
The singer jokingly stated that he is now “raising funds for his release,” poking fun at the growing speculation surrounding his whereabouts.
The controversy gained momentum after family members, including his mother, voiced concerns about not being able to reach him, particularly as his divorce from actress Annie Idibia continues to make headlines.
In a widely circulated video, Rose Idibia suggested that 2Baba might be missing and possibly being held against his will by his rumored new partner, Natasha Osawaru, a lawmaker from Edo State.
She pleaded with Natasha to “free her son,” suggesting that he was under some form of control or manipulation.
Addressing the situation during a performance, 2Baba appeared to lighten the claims, saying, “Allegedly, I’ve been missing. Allegedly, I’ve been kidnapped. So, as we come to the Acapella show, this show is to generate money for the kidnappers to release me.”
His comments, delivered with humour, appeared to downplay the seriousness of the accusations circulating online.
