Ex-Peter Obi’s ally loses as APC announces winner of Anambra guber primary

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced winner of its Saturday Anambra State governorship primary election.

According to the primary election results shared on the APC X handle (formerly Twitter), Nicholas Ukachukwu, emerged winner of the exercise, defeating his closest rival , Valentine Ozigbo with over 1,300 votes.

PlatinumPost reports that Ozigbo, a former ally of Peter Obi-the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general election, recently dumped LP for APC.

According to the primary election results, Ozigbo, who was a former governorship candidate in Anambra State managed to secure only 67 votes.

“Results of Anambra State APC Governorship Primary Election, as declared by Governor Bassey Otu, Chairman of the Primary Election Committee

“Prince Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu – 1,455 votes
Mr. Valentine Ozigbo – 67 votes
Engr. Johnbosco Onunkwo – 26 votes
Edozie Madu – 8 votes,” the APC post read.
