Anambra guber APC candidate sets to emerge as 1 630 delegates vote in primary election

Amid some media reports, approximately 1,630 delegates are gathered in Awka, Anambra State, to participate in the primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate.

Most of the delegates have already been accredited and are now waiting to cast their votes.

PlatinumPost reports that while seven aspirants initially purchased forms to contest for the party’s ticket, only four remained in the race by 7pm on Saturday evening.

These candidates are  Nicolas Ukachukwu,  Valentine Ozigbo,  Johnbosco Onunkwo, and Mr. Edozie Madu.

The aspirants who officially withdrew from the race include Hon. Chukwuma Umoeji, Sir Paul Chukwuma, and Prof. Obiora Okwonko.

Earlier in the day, Senator Bassey Otu, the Chairman of the Anambra Gubernatorial Primary Election Committee and Governor of Cross River State, held several meetings with various sub-committees to ensure a smooth and effective election process.

A visit to the election venue at Dr. Dora Akunyili on Saturday evening revealed a calm atmosphere, with delegates entering the venue in an orderly manner. Security personnel were also stationed at key locations to maintain safety and order.
