Mentally unstable man arrested for stabbing 25-year-old to death

The Niger State Police Command has arrested a man identified as Mubarak, who is suspected to be mentally unstable, for allegedly stabbing 25-year-old Shamseen Danshehu to death.
The tragic incident occurred on Sunday evening in the Kwangila area of Minna, the state capital. Witnesses reported that Mubarak and Danshehu got into a physical altercation, during which Mubarak allegedly stabbed him in the chest.
Danshehu was rushed to the Minna General Hospital, but he was confirmed dead on arrival.

The residents who said they did not know what caused the fight however said they always saw Mubarak in the street moving from place to place scavenging in residents’ refuse containers.
PUNCH Online contacted the spokesman for the state police command, Wasiu Abiodun, on Monday and he confirmed the death of Danshehu.
He also disclosed that the suspect was arrested .
“It was reported that one Mubarak, who is suspected of insanity and also scavenging around Kwangila, had a fight with a passerby, Shamsu Danshehu 25 years of the same area.
“During the fight, the said scavenger stabbed Shamsu on the chest with scissors.
“The victim was rushed to the general hospital but gave up the ghost in the hospital and confirmed dead. The suspect was arrested for further investigation,” Abiodun said.
