Man st@bbed to death during burial ceremony

A man, identified as Gideon Nwosu from Enugu State, has been killed during a funeral mass in Ikot Etim Bott Community, Akpabuyo Town, Cross River State.

According to witnesses, the incident occurred around 9:10 AM on March 7, 2025, when a suspect, identified as Efio Effion, allegedly stabbed Nwosu in the throat before escaping.

Effion’s current whereabouts are unknown, and the motive for the attack remains unclear.

Police officers from the Sting Unit Robot responded to a distress call, swiftly arriving at the scene to secure the area, while the victim’s body was transported to the State Hospital mortuary for autopsy and preservation.

Law enforcement has launched an investigation and intensified efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
