Troops gun down kidnappers, rescue mother, daughter

Troops from the 3 Division and Operation Safe Haven have rescued a woman and her daughter and eliminated two kidnappers during an operation in Gindiri, Mangu Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State.

According to security analyst Zagozola Makama, the rescue mission took place on February 23 at around 8:30 p.m., following intelligence reports about the victims’ abduction in Gindiri.

Acting on the tip-off, troops launched a swift pursuit of the kidnappers, engaging them in a firefight on the outskirts of the town. Two kidnappers were killed in the clash, while another was apprehended with severe injuries.

The rescued mother and daughter were unharmed and received medical attention at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (Gindiri Branch) before being reunited with their family.

Security forces have ramped up patrols in the area to maintain safety and reassure residents.
