FG terminates 98km Oyo-Ogbomoso road contract with RCC

The Federal Government has terminated the 98km Oyo-Ogbomoso road contract previously awarded to RCC Construction Company.

The Minister of Works, Engr. Dave Umahi, announced the decision on Thursday during the Oyo Federal Roads Stakeholders’ Engagement held in Ibadan, themed “Enhancing Federal Roads in Oyo State: Challenges and Sustainable Solutions.”

Umahi explained that the project had been long overdue, prompting the government to revoke the contract. However, he assured the public that the project would soon be re-awarded to a new contractor for swift completion.

Stakeholders expressed concerns that the delay in the road’s completion had hindered economic growth not just in Oyo-Ogbomoso but across the entire Oyo State.
