Anambra security outfit threatens to arrest ladies seen without bras or pants
Anambra

A security outfit in Anambra State has sparked outrage after announcing plans to arrest women seen in public without bras or panties.

The directive, reportedly issued through a public address system, was captured in a viral video circulating on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday.

In the footage, an official—speaking in the Igbo language—claimed that the order came from the state governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo. The officer also warned that women wearing only panties in public would face arrest.

Reacting, former Kaduna State Senator Shehu Sani on Monday, raised concerns about how the security outfit intends to enforce the rule.

Taking to his X handle, he wrote, “Anambra’s bra and pant law. I don’t know if the pant law is applicable to men….and how can the security outfit verify ladies’ compliance?”

The security group in question, known as the Agunaechemba Vigilante Group, was established by Governor Soludo to help curb crime, including kidnappings and other violent activities, in the state.
