Ex-Kano APC gov’ship candidate, Gawuna, gets another appointment from Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Nasiru Gawuna, the former Deputy Governor of Kano State, as the Chairman of the Board of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria.
This announcement was made on Friday in a statement released by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga.
Gawuna, who was the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in Kano State’s 2023 governorship election, had previously been appointed in 2024 as the Chairman of the Governing Council of Bayero University, Kano.

His political career saw him rise to the position of deputy governor under Abdullahi Ganduje after the resignation of Prof. Hafiz Abubakar in late 2018.
Although Gawuna aspired to succeed Ganduje as governor, the political wave of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) brought Governor Abba Yusuf to power.
