BREAKING: Gov Makinde presents staff of office to new Alaafin of Oyo

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has officially presented the Staff of Office to the newly appointed Alaafin of Oyo, His Royal Majesty, Abimbola Owoade.

The significant ceremony took place on Monday at the Governor’s office in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.

This marks a pivotal moment in the rich history of the Alaafin’s dynasty, as the revered traditional ruler assumes his new role.

Earlier reports confirmed that Owoade was set to receive his appointment letter and the symbolic Staff of Office during the event, formalizing his ascension to the throne.

“He (Prince Owoade) is in town. He will get a letter of appointment from the state government tomorrow (Monday) so that he can resume work as Alaafin,” a top government source told The PUNCH.

Makinde approved Owoade’s appointment in an announcement made in a Friday statement by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade.
