Tragedy as Sokoto SSG loses daughter, 3 grand children to fire

In a heartbreaking incident, the Secretary to the Sokoto State Government, Alhaji Muhammadu Bello Sifawa, has lost his daughter and three of her children in a devastating fire that occurred in the early hours of Monday.

The deceased, the wife of Alhaji Muhammadu Yusuf Bello, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sports and Youth Development, was at home with her family when the fire engulfed their residence. Her husband is the sole survivor of the tragic event.

The Sokoto State Fire Service responded to the blaze, battling for hours to extinguish it. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The remains of the housewife and her three children are set to be buried at Sheikh Shehu Usmanu Danfodiyo Mosque, Sifawa, at midnight today, in accordance with Islamic rites. The burial will take place at the family home of Alhaji Muhammadu Bello Sifawa.
