A tragic plane crash involving an Embraer 190 aircraft has been reported near Aktau city in Kazakhstan.

The plane, operated by Azerbaijan Airlines, was carrying 67 people, including 62 passengers and five crew members.

According to Kazakhstan’s emergency ministry, preliminary findings reveal that 25 people survived the crash, with 22 receiving medical treatment in nearby hospitals.

The aircraft, identified as Azerbaijan Airlines Flight J2-8243, was traveling from Baku, Azerbaijan, to Grozny, Russia. Reports suggest it was diverted due to heavy fog before crashing and catching fire upon impact. Emergency responders have since extinguished the fire.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash. Updates are expected as officials continue to gather more information.

The incident has left families and the aviation community in shock, with many awaiting further details about the survivors and the circumstances leading to the tragedy.
