 Nigerian gov approves N100 000 christmas bonus for workers pensioners

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has announced a ₦100,000 Christmas bonus for civil servants, public servants, and pensioners in the state.

The approval, aimed at ensuring a joyful festive season, was communicated in a statement by the State’s Head of Service, George Nwaeke, on Tuesday.

Dr. Nwaeke revealed that the governor authorized the bonus on Monday, marking a continued tradition of generosity during Fubara’s administration.

This is the second consecutive Christmas that civil servants are receiving such a bonus under his leadership, and notably, it is the first time pensioners have been included in this gesture.

The amount exceeds the national minimum wage, underscoring the state government’s commitment to improving the welfare of its workers and senior citizens.

In his Christmas message, Governor Fubara encouraged the people of Rivers State to embrace peace, unity, and love during the festive season and beyond.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, the governor highlighted the importance of peaceful coexistence in addressing Nigeria’s current economic and security challenges.

Fubara also expressed optimism about the year ahead, assuring Rivers residents of new opportunities and lasting fulfillment in 2025.
