Tears as Gov Kefas’ sister dies after gunshot injuries in Taraba

Tragedy has struck the family of Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas, as his younger sister, Atsi Kefas, succumbed to gunshot wounds sustained during an attack in Kente village, Wukari Local Government Area.

The 44-year-old passed away at a private hospital in Abuja, where she had been receiving treatment after being transferred from the Federal University Teaching Hospital in Wukari.

Conflicting accounts have emerged regarding the circumstances of the attack. While some reports suggest it was caused by bandits, others allege it may have resulted from an accidental discharge by a security operative traveling with her.

However, the state police command, through spokesperson Usman Abdullahi, has attributed the incident to an armed robbery.

The Taraba State Government has yet to issue an official statement about the tragic event, leaving room for speculation and mounting concerns about the worsening insecurity in the state.
