According to a notice signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Musa Umar Ikhilor, preliminary investigations revealed that some commissions, boards, parastatals, and agencies of government have been issuing backdated letters of employment to their cronies without due process.
Okpebholo’s administration emphasized its commitment to fairness and equity, stating that all employment exercises should be merit-based, competitive, and accessible to all Edo indigenes.
The governor directed that heads of MDAs must comply with the directive to suspend all employment processes and review all appointments made since May 2024 .
