Shock as lifeless body with missing organs found near bank

There was tension early Saturday morning at the bustling Ikoku Market in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Rivers State, as residents arrived to find a lifeless body with visible machete wounds.
The Rivers State Police Command, which confirmed the incident, indicated that preliminary investigations suggest the deceased may have been involved in criminal activities and could have been a victim of mob action.
It was further alleged that some of the man’s organs, including his private parts, were missing, raising concerns that the death might be linked to ritualistic practices.

The body was reportedly left outside a new-generation bank at Ayama Junction on Olu-Obasanjo Road in Port Harcourt.
An eyewitness identified as Emeka, who operates a shop in the area, recounted that the man’s stomach appeared to have been cut open and his intestines removed. Emeka added that the identity of the victim was still unknown as bystanders gathered around the scene.
However, the spokesperson for the State Police Command, Superintendent Grace Iringe-Koko, stated that the victim was recognized in the neighborhood for his notorious activities. Iringe-Koko also refuted claims of organ removal, affirming that “all the victim’s vital organs were intact.”
