Nigerian troops capture notorious bandit kingpin, Habu Dogo

Nigerian troops have successfully detained Abubakar Ibrahim, also known as Habu Dogo, a well-known bandit leader, during recent operations in Sokoto State.
Troops also arrested seven suspected Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB)/Eastern Security Network (ESN) commanders in another operation in the Southeast.
According to Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, Dogo was taken into custody at Rumji Village in Sokoto’s Illela Local Government Area.
He is reportedly on the watch list of security agencies both in Nigeria and neighboring Niger Republic, due to his involvement in cross-border terrorist activities.

“Others include Mrs. Ngozi Chukwuka and Mr. Oyekachi Ohia, who were arrested in Abia’s Umuahia South Local Government Area,” he stated.
Additional arrests were made in Umunneochi, Abia, where Mr. Ifeanyi Eze, Mr. Augustine Udemba, and Mr. Onyedikachi Udemba were detained. Another suspect, Elijah Mmaduipeya Obumneke, was apprehended in Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State.
Buba emphasized that ongoing counter-insurgency and anti-terrorism operations continue to diminish the combat capabilities of terrorist groups nationwide.
