Super Eagles climb to 36th in latest FIFA rankings after AFCON qualifier win

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have risen three places to 36th in the world, according to the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday.
This improvement comes after their 1-0 victory over Libya in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers on October 11 in Uyo, which helped the team accumulate 1,503.29 points.
Nigeria’s ranking boost also elevated their standing in Africa, moving them from sixth to fourth place, now behind Morocco, Senegal, and Egypt.
This progress reflects the Super Eagles’ strong performance as they continue to compete for AFCON qualification.
Globally, the October FIFA rankings saw significant changes driven by a wave of international matches, including World Cup qualifiers, AFCON qualifiers, Nations League games, and international friendlies. These competitions contributed to notable shifts in team standings around the world.
