Nigerian Army suspends Brigadier General over allegations of corruption

The Nigerian Army has announced the suspension of Brigadier General MA Sadiq, the immediate past Commander of the 3 Brigade in Kano, who is currently undergoing military investigation regarding serious administrative discrepancies during his tenure.

Reports indicate that General Sadiq faces allegations of diverting rice palliatives intended for soldiers and selling military equipment, including generator sets and operational vehicles, to scrap yards.

These accusations have reportedly resulted in his detention in a military police guardroom in Abuja.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Army spokesperson Major General Onyema Nwachuckwu confirmed that General Sadiq has been relieved of his command to facilitate a comprehensive investigation into the allegations.

He assured the public that a thorough investigation would be conducted to address the allegations against the senior officer.
