Gov Uzodimma meets with NLC, agrees to pay N70,000 minimum wage

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, has announced plans to implement N70,000 new minimum wage.
This was made known after an extensive meeting between the state government and Nigerian Labor Congress (NLC) , Imo State Chapter.
According to a report by Imo government new media on Thursday, both parties also agreed on the need to address inflation and the rising cost of living in the country.
Governor Hope Uzodimma, during a press briefing after the meeting , highlighted the administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of the state’s workforce.
“This new minimum wage policy reflects our dedication to ensuring that workers are fairly compensated for their contributions,” Uzodimma affirmed.
The governor also called on civil servants to increase their dedication and productivity in delivering quality service to the people of Imo State.
The Chairman of the Imo State NLC, Comrade Chigemezu Nwigwe, expressed confidence in the government’s commitment to workers’ welfare, adding that plans are underway to begin the implementation of the new wage structure.
