Police inspector allegedly stabs man to death over N200 bribe

In a shocking turn of events, a police inspector from the Police Mobile Force (PMF), 41 Division in Damaturu, Yobe State, has been taken into custody for allegedly stabbing a suspected drug dealer to death over a mere N200 bribe.
The confrontation unfolded in the CMC Area of Zango, Damaturu, where Inspector Mohammed Bulama reportedly engaged in a violent altercation with the deceased, identified as Abdulmalik Pompomari.
Eyewitness accounts suggest that the altercation escalated quickly, leading to the tragic incident that occurred on Sunday at approximately 5:05 PM.
A source said, “Inspector Mohammed Bulama demanded N200 from Abdulmalik Dauda Galadima at CMC Area, Zango Damaturu.

“When Abdulmalik refused, Inspector Bulama assaulted him with a knife, cutting him around the neck and chest leading to his death.”
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, said the Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Ahmed, had ordered investigation into the homicide incident.
The PPRO said the duo were involved in a bitter argument over a transaction at Zango area.
“The dispute escalated into a fight, resulting in Bulama stabbing Dauda in the chest. Bulama also sustained head injuries.
“The suspect was promptly arrested at the ‘C’ Division Police Headquarters where he had sought refuge.
“The State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has commenced investigation and Bulama (suspect) is currently in custody pending internal disciplinary action and prosecution,” he said.
