Thomas Frank, Enzo Maresca – 10 Top managers sacked so far this season

Across Europe’s major leagues and beyond, this season has already witnessed a wave of managerial sackings as clubs scramble to salvage campaigns, stabilise dressing rooms, and appease impatient fans.
Here’s a look at 10 managers who have been shown the exit door this season, and the circumstances that led to their departures.
- Thomas Frank – Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham dismissed Thomas Frank after eight months in charge amid a poor run of form that left the club just five points above the Premier League relegation zone. The Dane was appointed in June 2025 but suffered only two league wins in 17 matches, prompting the board to make a change.
- Enzo Maresca – Chelsea
Chelsea parted ways with Enzo Maresca on January 1, 2026, despite the Italian’s success in winning the Europa Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup with the club. The departure came after a run of one win in seven league games and reports of tensions with the club’s hierarchy.
- Igor Tudor – Juventus
Igor Tudor’s second stint as Juventus boss ended in October 2025 after a promising start to the 2025–26 campaign went off track. The Croatian, who had taken over from Thiago Motta in March 2025 and led the Bianconeri to a fourth-place finish and Champions League qualification the previous season, was relieved of his duties following an eight-match winless run in all competitions, including three straight defeats.
- Ruben Amorim – Manchester United
Manchester United sacked Portuguese boss Ruben Amorim on January 5, 2026, after disciplinary disputes with the club’s recruitment department and inconsistent results, leaving the Red Devils sixth in the Premier League at the time.
- Xabi Alonso – Real Madrid
Xabi Alonso’s short tenure as head coach of Real Madrid came to an end in January 2026 after just seven months in charge. The former midfielder, who had been appointed in the summer of 2025 on a multi-year deal, left the club by mutual consent a day after Real Madrid’s 3-2 defeat to Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final. His departure followed a mixed run of results, with the team sitting second in La Liga and showing inconsistency in Europe, leading the club to promote reserve team coach Álvaro Arbeloa as his replacement.
- Vítor Pereira – Wolverhampton Wanderers
Wolves dismissed Vítor Pereira on November 2, 2025, following a run of eight defeats in ten league matches that left the club at the bottom of the Premier League.
- Ange Postecoglou – Nottingham Forest
Postecoglou was relieved of his duties by Nottingham Forest after an eight-game winless start, becoming one of the earliest managerial departures of the season. The gaffer was sacked primarily because he failed to stabilise the team like the previous season.
- Nuno Espírito Santo – Nottingham Forest
Nuno was the first Premier League manager sacked this season, leaving Nottingham Forest on September 8, 2025, after publicly clashing with the club’s ownership.
- Vítor Pereira – Wolverhampton Wanderers
Wolves dismissed Vítor Pereira on November 2, 2025, following a run of eight defeats in ten league matches that left the club at the bottom of the Premier League.
- Graham Potter – West Ham United
West Ham confirmed the exit of manager Graham Potter on September 27, 2025, as part of a broader shift in leadership following disappointing early results.
