(BREAKING) Kano : Assailants kill mother, 6 children, dump infant in well

A woman, Fatima Abubakar, and her six children have been killed after unidentified attackers stormed their residence in Dorayi Chiranchi Quarters of Kano State.
The Kano State Police Command confirmed the incident in a statement issued by its Police Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa. According to the statement, the command received a distress call at about 12:10pm reporting an attack on the home of Haruna Bashir.
Police said the assailants used dangerous weapons on the victims, inflicting injuries that led to their deaths.
Following the report, the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, deployed a team of officers to the scene. The operation was led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, DCP Lawal Isah Mani.
The bodies of the victims were evacuated and taken to the Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital, Kano, where they were confirmed dead.
The Commissioner of Police also directed the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the Criminal Investigation Department, ACP Wada Jarma, to head an investigation aimed at identifying and arresting those responsible for the attack.
The police command expressed sympathy with the family of the victims, as well as residents of Dorayi Chiranchi and the wider Kano State community.
The incident was reportedly broadcast live on Facebook by Freedom Radio Nigeria on Saturday, January 17, 2027.
Reports further indicated that the attackers threw an infant into a well after killing the woman and her children.
