Abuja baker launches 30 day search for husband

A 29-year-old baker based in Abuja, identified as Damaris, has drawn widespread attention on social media after starting a personal video series titled “30 Days to Find Mr Right,” where she chronicles her search for a husband.

The introductory episode, which surfaced on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday through a post by Teeniiola, shows Damaris explaining the inspiration behind the series while challenging common perceptions about single women seeking relationships.

“Hi, my name is Damaris and I’m going to be calling this series 30 Days to Find Mr Right. Over the next 30 days, I’ll be telling you about myself in hopes of finding my soulmate. Yes, I am single, I’m searching, but I am not desperate. Don’t confuse the two,” she said.

According to her, the videos will reflect her real personality and appearance without pretence.

“You’re going to be seeing different looks of me because some days I’ll wear makeup, and some days I’ll be natural like this. This video has no filter, so this is my real face,” she said.

Damaris went on to share personal information about herself, including her age, background, and profession.

“My name is Damaris. I am 29 years old—I recently turned 29 this January. I’m an Igbo babe, Delta Igbo,” she said, adding humorously, “I’m a baker by profession. I’ve baked professionally for almost eight years and also run other businesses on the side.

She described herself as driven, attentive, and thoughtful in her interactions.

“I’m very ambitious. I’m a great observer and a great listener. I listen more than I talk, but I can also be a big talker. I only talk when I know the other person can listen,” she explained.

Speaking further on her personality, Damaris described herself as an ambivert who enjoys both social activities and quiet time alone.

“I’m not really an extrovert, and I’m not really an introvert either—I’m somewhere in the middle. I can have fun when I want to, but I also love being at home on my bed and enjoying alone time,” she said.

She also admitted that despite being friendly, she sometimes struggles socially.

“I would say I have different personalities, to be fair,” she noted.

Damaris revealed that she enjoys organising and planning events, especially for people close to her.

“I’m a big planner. I like to plan things, especially with people I love. If your wedding is coming up or something like that, I just like to be involved,” she said.

On where she hopes to settle, the baker made her preference clear.

“I’m based in Abuja, and honestly, I don’t want to live anywhere else. If I’m in Nigeria, it has to be Abuja, so you should have that at the back of your mind,” she said.

As the first episode ended, Damaris hinted that subsequent videos would offer deeper insights into her life.

“I think this is enough for day one. We’ll continue on day two—I’ll think of more things to share about myself tomorrow,” she said, adding, “Fingers crossed.”

She also encouraged interested viewers to reach out directly.

“If you like any of these things, or if you think, ‘Oh, this girl can enter my DM,’ I’ll reply,” she said before signing off.

In a caption accompanying the video, she summed up her motivation succinctly: “I am almost 30 years old. Join me on my journey as I look for a husband because there’s no time left.”
