Kano APC leaders target party’s victory in 2027, push for widespread e-registration

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State have underscored the importance of intensifying the ongoing electronic registration of party members as part of preparations for victory in the 2027 general elections.
The position was reached on Tuesday during a midnight marathon stakeholders’ meeting convened by the state chapter of the party.
A statement signed by Muhammad Garba, Chief of Staff to the former APC National Chairman, said the e-registration exercise remains crucial to the development of a comprehensive, credible and verifiable membership database, a move expected to significantly boost the party’s electoral fortunes across the country.
According to the statement, the resolution followed extensive briefings by the state APC Chairman, Prince Abdullahi Abbas, and the Kano State e-registration coordinator and Organising Secretary of the party, Shafi’u Darma.
The meeting resolved that, considering the party’s deep-rooted grassroots presence in Kano, all members must ensure they are duly registered while also mobilising others to participate fully in the exercise.
Stakeholders further noted that effective participation by Kano State would strengthen the APC’s electoral prospects, building on more than one and a half decades of loyalty, structure and political influence in the state.

They called for sustained and strategic mobilisation, stressing that proper registration would reinforce the party’s internal structure, widen voter outreach and maximise performance in future elections.
Members were also urged to maintain unity and give full support to the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which focuses on Nigeria’s socio-economic development, with emphasis placed on political cohesion as a requirement for achieving both party and national goals.
In his remarks, Senator Barau Jibrin emphasised the need for peace, unity and understanding within the party in order to consolidate its gains as the largest political force on the African continent.
The meeting was chaired by the party leader and former National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
It was attended by prominent party leaders, including the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin; Senator Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila (Kano South); Hon. Kabir Abubakar Bichi; Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa; Prince Abdullahi Abbas; Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna; and Hon. Murtala Sule Garo, the APC’s 2023 gubernatorial and deputy gubernatorial candidates.
Also present were Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata and Dr. Mariya Mahmud Bunkure, Ministers of State for Housing Development and the Federal Capital Territory respectively; Alhaji Abdullahi Tijjani Muhammad Gwarzo, former Deputy Governor of Kano State and former Minister of Housing Development; and party elder, Alhaji Nasiru Aliko Koki.
Others in attendance included the Managing Director of the Hadejia Jama’are and River Basin Development Authority, Engr. Rabi’u Sulaiman Bichi; the Director-General of the National Productivity Centre, Hon. Baffa Babban Dan’Agundi; Arch. Aminu Dabo; Bashir Maisango, Deputy State Secretary; Abdullahi Mahmud Gaya; Hon. Ma’aruf Maiwake; Hon. Nasiru Aminu Bala Ja’oji; and Comrade Muhammad Garba.
The stakeholders also recommended the convening of extended party meetings at ward, local government and state levels to further mobilise members on the e-registration exercise and other party activities, with a view to ensuring that no eligible member is excluded.
The meeting ended with a renewed appeal for maximum participation in the e-registration exercise, noting that Kano’s strong involvement would set the standard for the APC nationwide and further strengthen the party’s chances of securing a decisive victory in the 2027 elections.
