Troops repel deadly Boko Haram night attack in Adamawa community

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, working alongside other security agencies, have successfully thwarted an attempted attack by suspected Boko Haram terrorists in Mayo Ladde village, located in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The incident occurred at about 9:00 p.m. on Friday in the border settlement of Mayo Ladde, which connects Askira/Uba Local Government Area with the Sambisa Forest corridor in neighbouring Borno State.

Sources disclosed to counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, that troops, with support from members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), promptly acted on a distress alert following reports of the attempted assault.

“The terrorists attempted to attack the village but were decisively engaged by the troops, who repelled them and forced them to retreat,” the source said.

According to the sources, there were no casualties during the incident, as residents had already evacuated the community before the insurgents arrived.

The source further revealed that security forces have stepped up patrols and surveillance across the area and adjoining border communities to prevent future attacks and restrict the movement of the terrorists.

Operation Hadin Kai reaffirmed its resolve to maintain sustained offensive operations against Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters in order to protect lives and property across the North-East.
