One sustains gunshot injury as bandits abduct 5 travellers in Kogi

Residents of Ogbe and nearby communities in Kogi State were thrown into fear on Friday after armed bandits launched another attack along the Ogbe–Egbe road.
The incident occurred when a group of residents was travelling from Ogbe to Egbe to attend the wedding ceremony of an Ogbe indigene who is based in Egbe, Kogi State.
According to reports, the travellers were ambushed by the attackers at the boundary area between Ogbe and Koro during the journey.
One person was reportedly shot in the attack and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital for medical treatment. Five other members of the group were abducted and taken into the bush by the assailants.
The latest incident has renewed concerns among residents over recurring attacks on rural roads in the area, with calls on relevant authorities to urgently step up security patrols to curb further violence.
