NiMet predicts sunshine, hazy weather nationwide for three days

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has projected sunny and hazy weather conditions across Nigeria from Sunday through Tuesday.
According to the agency’s weather forecast issued on Saturday in Abuja, northern parts of the country are expected to experience clear and sunny conditions throughout the three-day period, while hazy atmospheric conditions are anticipated across the North-Central states.
NiMet also indicated that parts of Rivers, Bayelsa, and Delta states may witness localised thunderstorms accompanied by light rainfall in the morning hours on Sunday.
As the day progresses, isolated thunderstorms are expected to develop over Rivers, Delta, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, and Bayelsa states.

For Monday, the agency forecast continued sunshine across the northern region alongside hazy conditions in the North-Central states. Southern parts of the country are expected to have cloudy conditions in the morning, followed by isolated thunderstorms later in the day.
On Tuesday, sunny and hazy weather is expected to persist in both the northern and North-Central regions, while the southern states are likely to experience cloudy skies in the morning with isolated thunderstorms and moderate rainfall later in the day.
NiMet cautioned residents, particularly individuals with respiratory ailments, to take necessary precautions due to the presence of dust particles in the atmosphere.
Motorists were also advised to drive carefully during periods of rainfall.
In addition, airline operators were urged to obtain airport-specific weather information from NiMet to ensure effective flight planning, while members of the public were encouraged to rely on the agency’s official weather updates for timely information.
