FCT Council’s Poll: ADP chairmanship candidate pledges developmental projects in Gwagwalada

The chairmanship candidate of Action Democratic Party, ADP, in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT),  Shanabo Abubakar has called on electorate in the area to shun money politics in next year’s area council election.

Abubakar made the cal while speaking with newsmen in Gwagwalada Abuja on his developmental agenda for residents of the area.

The ADP chairmanship candidate said the call became necessary to ensure the emergence of credible leaders and good governance in the area.

He identified money politics as one of the factors responsible for bad governance.

According to Abubakar,  electorate in the area should give priority in electing visionary leaders that would be committed in delivering the dividends of democracy to all the ten wards in Gwagwalada Area Council.

While describing Gwagwalada as very strategic in the FCT, the ADP Chairman Candidate promised to embark on people’s oriented projects if elected in the February 2026 Chairmanship election.

The ADP Chairmanship Candidate also promised to tackle insecurity, provide healthcare system, youth and women empowerment, road infrastructure, provision of quality education and portable water, development of agriculture and food security as well as provision of other basic amenities that would improve the socioeconomic wellbeing of people in the area.

Abubakar who expressed satisfaction over the preparation of INEC so far for the Area Council’s poll advised the Commission to ensure the conduct of free, fair and credible 2026 FCT Area Council Election.

He equally advised prospective voters in the area to obtain their Permanent Voter’s Card, PVC, to enable them elect candidates of their choice that would pilot the affairs of Gwagwalada Area Council for the next four years.

While calling on youths to avoid being used by selfish politicians before, during and after the election.. Comrade Shanabo Abubakar stressed the need for politicians in the area to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship towards ensuring a peaceful and credible election.
