CG NFSS reacts to appointment of Gen. Musa as defence minister

The Commander General of Nigeria Forest Security Service, NFSS, Dr. Joshua Osatimehin has reacted to the appointment of retired General Christopher Musa as the new Minister of Defence, congratulating the former defence chief on the new position.
Osatimehin also commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing him as the new Minister of Defence.
In a statement in Abuja, Osatimehin described the move as putting the right peg in the right hole.
He said Musa who is an experienced soldier would command the necessary professional respect from the Service Chiefs needed to combat banditry, kidnapping, boko haram, terrorism and other crimes and criminality confronting Nigeria.
According to him, what is needed now is renewed leadership in the nation’s security apparatus towards addressing the nation’s security concerns
The Commander General of NFSS therefore advised the newly appointed Minister of Defence to bring his strategic leadership, experience and quality to bear in the fight against insecurity across the country towards safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial space towards protecting lives and property of the citizens.
While also urging him not to betray the confidence reposed in him by President Bola Tinubu, Dr. Joshua Osatimehin called for the collective support of all stakeholders to enable the President actualize his renewed hope agenda for Nigerians in the area of security
He expressed NFSS readiness to effectively support General Christopher Musa to enable him succeed as the Minister of Defence.
